Descriptive Writing
A very peculiar event has been taking place on Herald Street, in Dobson. For a while now the local school, has been experiencing a “rubbish collecting cat”.
R2, the fat white and grey tabby cat, sets out on his adventure at Paparoa Range School, on stormy treacherous nights. Roaming around the playground and under the creaking old wooden floors that the verandah is made of, he begins to search deep and deeper under the crumbling soil as it falls helplessly through his silky fur. Then after collecting, ice-block sticks and shiny foil packets he holds them restless in his mouth as he ‘purrs’ at the sound of the clattering rain.
R2 pounces through the door and sits there with a screeching “meow” until Kim, his owner hops out of bed with a face full of exasperation. The clock ticks late at night with trees crashing against the windows of her kitchen. Mountains of rubbish begin to pile up at the pathway of her front shiny door.
It is said that the cat has been doing this since the year after he was adopted from Taylorville by Kim. He is now 9 years of age and is doing great to be a part of the community.
